Mental Health During the Fourth Wave

The pandemic has been long. It’s been exhausting. It’s been stressful, uncertain and distressing for folks. It’s brought on tough choices, financial concerns, grief and loneliness. It’s easy to feel “stuck” when there is so much out of our control. You’re not alone in those feelings.

The fourth wave and back to school time in particular has been a recipe for anxiety for many Albertans. It’s important to know that there are resources in our province to help you cope.

Access 24-7 is a centralized mental health and addictions hotline. They provide telephone support, assessments and crisis intervention. They are available at any time at (780) 424-2424.

Togetherall is a safe, free online platform for peer-to-peer support. They provide an online community where folks can seek and provide mental health support. This resource is available 24-7 for those 16+.

There is a Mental Health Help Line for Albertans that is available at any time that provides confidential and anonymous service. It is staffed by by a multidisciplinary team comprised of nurses, psychiatric nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and psychologists. They are available at (877) 303-2642.
