The EWPCN offers a variety of classes and workshops to support a patient’s health and well-being.
The GLA:D program is an evidence-based treatment program for individuals with persistent and/or recurrent hip, knee and/or back pain that negatively affects their everyday life and function.
The GLA:D program consists of self-management education classes and exercise therapy. It originated in Demark with results in patient outcomes showing a decrease in pain and an increase in functional ability.
By strengthening muscles and correcting movement patterns, patients can prevent the progression of symptoms and reduce pain.

This 8 -10 week class will help you gain the skills to be able to exercise independently based on your health needs and any limitations you may have.
Exercise sessions are held in recreation centres and consist of a combination of education, cardiovascular, resistance, flexibility and adult physical literacy exercises (balance, agility, integrated movement).
Exercise sessions are 75 minutes in length and are run in small groups of 4 to 6 participants one time per week.
In order to get optimal benefits from exercise it is important that you commit to exercising a minimum of 2x/week, optimally 3x/week. We will spend the first couple weeks teaching you how to exercise in the gym, and then once you are comfortable and confident with the exercise you will be expected to do it at least 1x/a week on your own as a requirement of the program.
